The private-practice difference

Advanced in our approach.
Personal in our care.

We chose private practice so care can stay personal. Our commitment is to treat you with the attention and respect we would want for our own families.

Your story comes first.

We want to understand what hurts, what you have tried, and what you want to get back to. Your symptoms, daily life, and goals belong in the conversation alongside your imaging.

Clear explanations. Shared decisions.

We discuss your options, their tradeoffs, and the reasoning behind a recommendation. You should understand the plan and have room to ask questions before deciding.

The relationship matters.

Our goal is a care team that knows you, communicates with you, and stays invested in your progress—from the first conversation through follow-up.

Innovation in service of the patient.

Active studies evaluate approaches to spine surgery. Collaboration on implants, instruments, and planning tools connects surgical challenges with potential solutions.

Experience, evidence, and your goals guide treatment. A new technology is an option to evaluate, not a reason to recommend an operation.

Common questions

What patients ask before they call

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans and can help verify your benefits and network status before your visit. We also recommend contacting your insurance carrier directly to confirm that Huntsman Spinal Clinic and your provider are in-network with your specific plan.

Will I need surgery?

Not necessarily. Many patients come in for a clear answer on whether surgery is the right next step. When it is, we explain exactly what we'd recommend and why. When it isn't, we'll tell you that too.

How do I request a consultation?

Call (801) 346-7788 or visit our consultation page. Our scheduling team will confirm appointment availability.

What conditions do you treat?

Our guides cover neck conditions, back conditions, and spine injuries and deformity. They include disc and joint problems, nerve-related symptoms, spinal fractures, and changes in alignment. The Advanced Treatments directory explains the procedures available to discuss with your team.

Do I need a referral?

It depends on your insurance. Some plans, especially HMOs and certain Medicare Advantage plans, require a referral from your primary care provider before a specialist visit. Contact your insurance carrier directly to confirm your plan's referral requirements before your visit. Our team can help with questions about preparing for your appointment.
